Privacy First

My Social Book turns the photos and posts you choose into printed books. Your memories are personal, and protecting them is at the core of our business. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website www.mysocialbook.com, our iOS and Android apps and our services (the "Services"), why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have.

This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.

Who we are

The Services are operated by Unlimited Investments, Rue de Livourne 7 boîte 4, 1060 Saint-Gilles, Belgium, company number BE 0501.540.082 ("My Social Book", "we", "us"). We are the data controller for the information described in this policy.

Information we collect

1. Information you give us

When you create an account, order a book or contact us, you give us information such as your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number and the content of your messages to our support team.

2. Content you choose to import

To build your book, you connect one source: Facebook, Instagram (professional account), Dropbox, or photos uploaded from your device. You explicitly authorize this access through the official login of each platform. We then import the content needed for your book: photos, captions, dates, likes and locations. We do not import comments written by other people. We respect the privacy settings of your content on each platform.

You can revoke our access at any time in the settings of your Facebook, Instagram or Dropbox account.

3. Order and payment information

We keep a record of your orders. Payments are processed by our payment providers (Shopify Payments, PayPal). We never receive or store your full card number.

4. Technical and usage information

When you visit our website or use our apps, we collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, language, pages visited, date and time of access and error reports. Part of this information is collected through cookies (see "Cookies" below).

How we use your information and why

• To provide the Services: estimate the price, build the book preview, print and ship your book, and provide customer support. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
• To keep the Services secure and working: prevent fraud, detect errors, measure and improve our website. Legal basis: our legitimate interest.
• To send you marketing emails: news and offers about our products. If you are a customer, we may send you offers about similar products, based on our legitimate interest. Otherwise, we only do so with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in each email.
• To show you relevant ads on social networks and search engines, through advertising cookies and similar technologies. You can object at any time (see "Cookies").
• To meet our legal obligations, for example accounting and tax rules. Legal basis: legal obligation.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the content you import from social networks for advertising.

Who we share your information with

We share your information only with service providers that help us run the Services, and only for that purpose. They are bound by contract to keep it confidential and secure. They include:

• Hosting and storage: Amazon Web Services.
• Online store and checkout: Shopify.
• Payment: Shopify Payments, PayPal.
• Printing and delivery: our printing partners in Europe and the United States, and shipping carriers.
• Email and SMS: Klaviyo, Amazon Simple Email Service.
• Customer support tools.
• Analytics, error monitoring and advertising measurement, such as Google, Meta and Pinterest.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or to protect the safety of our users or the public. If our business is sold or merged, your information may be transferred to the new owner, who will remain bound by this Privacy Policy.

International transfers

We are based in Belgium. Some of our service providers, and our printing partner for orders shipped to the United States, are located outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States. When we transfer personal information outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Content Storage

My Social Book stores your content (photos, captions, dates, likes and locations) on secured servers only to estimate the price, build the book preview and print the book you order. We are not an online archiving service. Content is deleted automatically on a fixed schedule:

• Book previews: deleted after 40 days.
• Imported photos and book data: deleted after 10 months.
• Digital PDF copies of your book: kept 2 years so you can download them again, then deleted.
• Server logs: deleted after 6 months.

Account and order information (name, email, shipping address, order history) is kept while your account is active, and afterwards for the period required by Belgian accounting and tax law.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
• correct inaccurate information;
• have your information deleted;
• restrict or object to certain uses, including direct marketing at any time;
• receive the information you gave us in a portable format;
• withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.

To exercise these rights, write to help@mysocialbook.com. We answer within one month. To delete your account and all your content, send the same request: we delete it within 30 days, except the order and billing records we must keep by law.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, www.dataprotectionauthority.be) or with the authority of your country.

United States residents. Depending on your state, you may have similar rights to know, correct and delete your information. We do not sell personal information. Our advertising cookies may count as "sharing" under some state laws. To opt out, write to help@mysocialbook.com with the subject "Do not sell or share". We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the website to work, for example to keep your basket and your login. Others help us measure and improve our website, and others allow our advertising partners to show you relevant ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and manage personalized ads in your Facebook, Instagram and Google ad settings. Some parts of the Services may not work without cookies.

Children

Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. You should not use the Services if you are under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to Other Sites

Our website may link to sites we do not operate, such as social networks. Their own privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for their practices.

Security

We apply technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, loss or destruction. Our staff and service providers who process your information are bound by confidentiality.

Examples of the measures we apply:

• All traffic between your browser and our services is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS).
• Stored content is encrypted at rest (AES-256) on Amazon Web Services infrastructure.
• Access to social network data uses the official OAuth login of each platform. We never see or store your social network password.
• Payment card data is handled by our payment providers (Shopify Payments, PayPal). We never store card numbers.
• Access to production systems is limited to the staff who need it, with individual accounts.
• Content is deleted automatically on the schedule described in "Content Storage".

Reporting a security issue. If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, please write to security@mysocialbook.com.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with its revision date. If the changes are significant, we will also inform you by email or on the website.

SMS/MMS Mobile Messaging Marketing Program

This section applies to our SMS/MMS marketing program (the "Program").

We will only use the information you provide through the Program to send you mobile messages and respond to you if necessary. We share it only with platform providers, phone companies and other vendors who help us deliver the messages. We do not sell, rent, loan, trade, lease or otherwise transfer for profit any phone numbers or customer information collected through the Program to any third party. We may disclose information when required by law, regulation or a government request, or to protect our rights or property.

When you provide information in connection with the Program, you agree that it is accurate, complete and true. If we believe it is not, or that you joined the Program for an improper purpose, we may refuse you access to the Program.

Text marketing and notifications: by subscribing to text notifications, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages at the phone number provided. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Text STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 allows California residents to request information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, write to help@mysocialbook.com or to the address above.
